Kristen Anne Bell is an American actress and performer born in 1980. She is a Michigan native who was born and raised by her parents, Lorelei Frygier (a nurse) as well as Tom Bell (a TV news director). Her parents are of Polish descent (mother), and German, English and Scottish (father). Kristen was already a talented entertainer in the early stages. In 1992, she attended her first audition and won a role in Raggedy Ann and Andy. Bell's mother established her with an agent before she was 13, and she got her first role for television and newspaper commercials. As well as taking private lessons in acting, she launched her career at that time. Bell appeared in Polish Wedding (2000) in 1998 as an uncredited actor. Bell was a member of the drama and music club in Shrine Catholic High School. The Wizard of Oz production at her highschool won Bell the leading Dorothy character. Bell attended New York City for the Tisch School of the Arts to study musical theater following her graduation. Bell was a graduate in 2001, resigned her studies at the university to play her role as Becky as Becky in Tom Sawyer. She made her first film credits in Pootie Tang at the beginning of 2001. The scene however it was cut and her appearance only appears in the final credits. Bell appeared in Broadway for the first time in The Crucible, a revival with Liam Neeson with Angela Bettis.
